Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is Broward County’s only nationally accredited, state-
certified domestic violence center. For over 36 years, WID has been able to provide our services and programs at no cost to the families
in need. This is due to funding from the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Broward County, and United Way, among individuals,
municipalities, private and corporate foundations, and a thrift store that generates more than $450, 000 each year for program support.
The thrift store is free to participants and the revenue is generated by the community. WID raises additional funds every year from
the community through special events, direct mail, auxiliaries and other support.
