Thank you for your interest in our Volunteer Program! Volunteers at Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. (WID) play an important role within the agency. By making the commitment to volunteer, you are joining a very special group of individuals. WID could not operate without the generosity of people like you!

The Volunteer Program fosters an opportunity for individuals who have a strong passion for engaging, inspiring, and creating change in our community. Knowing your value to us, we pledge to provide you with challenging and rewarding responsibilities while you serve at WID. Our volunteers, by embracing WID’s mission and values, help provide victims of domestic violence with safe shelter, crisis intervention and resources, and help educate the community. Volunteers assist with respite (children), the crisis line, the front desk, Speakers' Bureau, administrative duties, fundraising, special events, and much more!

The first step to becoming a volunteer is to attend a Volunteer Interest Meeting. Meetings are held each month during the first week. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 2 from 6-8pm and we certainly encourage you to attend. The meeting will be at our Jim and Jan Moran Family Center near downtown Fort Lauderdale. RSVP is required for attendance.
